Magnesium, by Genesis BioHealth, is an organic blend of magnesium and vitamin C.  Sometimes the components in this blend are also called magnesium chelates.

Genesis BioHealth has developed this Magnesium with NO fillers.  Also, it is listed the magnesium content of the capsules as “elemental magnesium” which is the same basis the official RDA uses (Recommended Daily Allowance).

In this formulation, are four different types of fully reacted magnesium compounds, each having enhanced bioavailability.  Each component is fully reacted to help ensure effective absorption and minimal impact on delicate GI tissues.  The different Magnesiums that are used are the following:

• Magnesium Taurate
• Magnesium Bisglycinate
• Magnesium Citrate
• Magnesium Ascorbate

A large portion of the formula (40% wt/wt) is singly devoted to Magnesium Taurate.  This is because we very much like taurine’s ability to improve cardiac function, improve insulin sensitivity, and reduce hyper-excitability for the nervous system.  Glycinate, on the other hand, is useful for promoting healthy muscle tone, relaxation, and for aiding chronic aches and pains.  The ascorbate provides a good source of the antioxidant vitamin C (roughly 100% RDA for an adult male), and citrate is helpful in the production of ATP (adenosine triphosphate), the currency of cellular energy in the body.
